The modifier configuration screen is where you'll be able to setup the details of your modifier as well as assign modifier groups.  The modifier configuration screen has two main areas within it: Modifier Details and Modifiers.

Modifier Details

The modifier details panel contains the basic information regarding the item:

Status

This status determines whether the modifier is enabled (on) or disabled (off).  Disabling a modifier will hide the modifier on any menu(s) and modifier group(s) from guests viewing the menu on their devices.

POS Item

This setting sets the POS Item code that the modifier is linked to from your POS item.  Modifiers must be linked to a POS Item by clicking Link Item before you are able to set the Status to On.

Effective Date

The Effective Date fields allow you to plan ahead for menu changes by setting a start and/or end date for an item.  When a start and/or end date is assigned to an item, the item will not appear to guests viewing your mobile ordering menu if the current date is before the start date / after the end date, even if the item is currently added to one or more of your menus.

Stock Status

This setting will display the current stock status for the modifier.  If your location is configured to pull the stock availability from your POS, this setting is read-only.  Otherwise, if your location is configured to set the stock status manually, this field will be a checkbox that you can check or uncheck based on your stock.  When a modifier is marked as out of stock, the modifier will still appear to guests on the menu(s), but will not be available to select for ordering.

Display Name

As names of many modifiers from the POS are not likely the name you wish to display to your guests, the Display Name will allow you to set the name of the modifier to be displayed to guests viewing the modifier on your menu(s) on their devices.

Description

This field will allow you to enter a description for your modifier which will be visible to guests viewing your menu(s) on their devices.

Price

This field will allow you to set the price for the modifier based on the price(s) pulled from your POS.  Newly created modifiers will use the default price but can be changed to any other price point defined by your POS.

Alcohol Tracking

If the modifier has alcohol content, this setting allows you to indicate the modifier is an alcoholic one and also allows you to identify the measurement of alcohol in the modifier (measured in number of standard drinks).  The measurement is used when a location has a max number of drinks per order limit set.

When editing any of these fields, the Save Changes button will reveal itself at the top of the page.  Click this button to save any changes made, or click Cancel to revert the changes.

Modifiers

The Modifiers section allows you to assign one or more modifier groups to a modifier.  Modifier groups appear to guests when viewing a modifier in your menu(s).  For information on the creation of modifier groups, refer to Modifier Groups: Creating a Modifier Group.

To add a modifier group to the modifier, click the + Modifier Group button.  This will bring up an Add Modifier Groups window which will allow you to view and select modifier group(s) to add to the modifier based on your currently created modifier groups.  To add a group, click the Add button (groups can also be removed by clicking the Remove button).  Once all modifier group(s) have been selected, click the Done button to return to the main modifier details screen.

When editing any assigned modifier groups, the Save Changes button will reveal itself at the top of the page.  Click this button to save any changes made, or click Cancel to revert the changes.

To remove a modifier group from a modifier:

  1. Click the ellipses button (three dots) for the modifier group to be removed
  2. Click Remove Mod Group
  3. Click Save Changes at the top of the page to save the changes

Modifier groups on a modifier can be re-arranged in the order you want them to appear to guests when viewing items for ordering.  To reorder the list of modifier groups for a modifier:

  1. Click and drag the groups via the grabber icon (Menu_Grabber_Icon.png) in the new order you wish to set
  2. Click Save Changes at the top of the page to set the new order of groups
