New Features:
READY-1425. Menu Tags & Badges
We are introducing tags and badges for our mobile ordering menu builder. With Tags & Badges, you can add classifications to your menu items to allow your guests to better find items on your menu that align with their dietary restrictions, or provide visual indicators to select items to help promote items within the ordering menu.
What are Tags?
Tags are components you can setup and associate to menu items to help further classify/categorize your menu items, such as tagging menu items that meet certain dietary restrictions like vegetarian, vegan, nut free, gluten free, etc. Menu items can have multiple tags associated to them, and these tags will be visible to your guests when viewing your mobile ordering menu. Additionally, with the Menu Filtering feature also being introduced with this release, guests can filter an entire menu to only show items with certain tag(s) associated to them.
In the following example, the Aussie Fries item has a Nut Free tag associated to it, which is indicated by the "NF" indicator on the item card. When viewing the item details, the tag indicator and full page name is displayed.
What are Badges?
Badges are visual components that you can create and associate to menu items to help identify and highlight certain items on your menu, such as highlighting new items, special promo items, etc. Menu items can have on badge associated at a time, and will be shown alongside your items to guests in the mobile ordering menu to help bring attention to the item. Additionally, with the Menu Filtering feature also being introduced with this release, guests can filter an entire menu to only show items with certain badges associated to them.
In the following example, the Aussie Fries item has a "Popular" badge associated to it, showing the stylized badge on the item card, as well as in the item details.

READY-1257. Menu Filtering
We are introducing the ability for guests to filter your mobile ordering menu to show only items that pertain to the guests needs. With menu filtering, guests can select from any tags or badges that are currently associated to your menu items to filter the menu listing to show only items with the selected tags or badges.
To access the menu filter, tap the filter icon that is located on the left-side of the menu navigation row. The filter panel will show any tags and badges associated to items on the mobile ordering menu. You can select one or more tags and badges to filter and tap APPLY FILTERS to filter the menu. To clear any applied filters, tap the Clear Filters button which floats at the top of the menu.
Improvements to our menu search functionality have been made to reduce the number of taps iOS users need to make to begin a search of a menu. Currently, users need to tap the Search the menu... field twice to bring up the iOS keyboard to initiate the search. Now, iOS users will only need to tap once and start typing their search term.
Improvements to our menu search functionality have been made to better help guests search for items on your menu that contain accented characters. Search terms by guests will also include results for items that contain accented characters in them (for example, the search term Rose will show results for Rosé items).
READY-1626. Deprecate Location Picker v1
In our March 16th 2021 release, we released an improved order for pickup location picker that added geolocation capabilities to more accurately list locations nearest to the guest's current location. We have been rolling this new location picker to select clients over the past few months and are rolling it out to all clients using our mobile ordering location picker feature with this release.
READY-2103. Add support for forced service charges for Omnivore (Brink, Micros 3700, Micros Symphony) integration
Currently, forced service charges are available and supported for locations using Bypass as the POS integration. Starting with this release we are opening up the capability to locations using Omnivore as the POS integration.
Some important notes regarding this feature:
- Tooling is currently not available to configure this functionality. Any requests to enable this functionality will need to be sent to Ready Support.
- Omnivore supports the listing and use of service charges for Micros 3700, Micros Symphony, and Par Brink at this time - as such we will only be able to enable functionality for locations using these POS systems via Omnivore
- For micros Symphony, only non-taxable service charges are supported
- To use forced service charges, clients will need to either:
- Make a set percentage or dollar service charge in their POS (benefit of this method is that the client can update the %/$ amounts whenever they need to without needing to inform us)
- Make an open priced/percentage service charge in their POS
Bugfixes:
READY-116. Only show discount-related you text if any of the selected checks has check-level discounts
Fixed an issue where locations with pre-discount tipping enabled would show discount-related information to guests when there are no discounts on the check.
READY-1833. Non-$0 forced modifiers showing to guests
Fixed an issue where non-$0 forced modifiers were visible to guests during the ordering flow instead of being hidden from view (and price included in the item price).
READY-1907. Item galleries using item thumbnail image instead of full image
Fixed an issue where item galleries were utilizing an items' thumbnail image instead of the full image, resulting in some display quality issues on larger item gallery components (location-level, menu-level galleries).
READY-1967. Unable to cancel orders processed via Square
Fixed an issue where orders created for locations using Square POS could not be cancelled from within the Ready order display system.
READY-1968. Unable to partially refund payments via Square
Fixed an issue where partial refunds on transactions processed through Square could not be partially refunded.
READY-1974. Modifiers not being prompted for items added via recommended / popular items
Fixed an issue where in the event an item is added to a guests order through the Recommended Pairings or Popular Items list in the Review Order screen, and that item has modifier groups associated to it, the system would not prompt the guest to choose applicable modifier(s) for the item.
Fixed an issue where the "Show More Items" button would not appear for sections that have been configured to display s partially expanded (sections configured like this display a sections' item gallery but hide section items and instead show a "Show More Items" button to reveal the hidden items).
READY-2005. Modifiers not being returned in calls to Square
Fixed an issue where modifiers from Square POS were not being synced down into Ready systems to be available to link to Ready modifiers in Menu Builder.
READY-2007. POS category not showing for Square items
Fixed an issue where Menu Builder was not showing the category a POS item in Square is associated to.
READY-2034. Popular items not appearing in Review Order screen
Fixed an issue where the popular items and recommended pairings panels in the Review Order screen would only appear for locations explicitly enabled to show these components. All locations will now show these components when there are applicable recommended pairings or popular items configured in Menu Builder.
Fixed an issue where locations locking their mobile ordering menu to read only would not show out of stock or unavailable indicators to guests for items when viewing an item's details.
READY-2058. Cannot create field "name" in element
Fixed an issue where saving location settings for some locations would result in a "Cannot create field name in element" error.
