Alternative Guest Presence Validation for Open Tab (2440)

This feature is currently released as a beta and is not yet available for general use.  Availability of this feature will become available in a future release.

Currently guests creating orders through Ready at locations using our Open Tab (deferred payment) functionality are required to perform phone number validation before orders can be submitted.  We are introducing a new, scan-based validation method that uses the action of scanning the QR code of a table target to validate guests' presence in the restaurant, eliminating the need for phone number validation, making it easer than ever for guests to get right to ordering without the need for additional steps.

With this new functionality, once a guest is validated based on the scanning of the QR code, the guest is validated for 45 minutes to submit their orders for their dining session.  After the 45 minutes elapses, if the guest still has the Ready menu on their device's browser and looks to add more items to their order, they will be prompted to re-scan the QR code to re-validate their presence:
