We live in a world where time is money. Often times, we have to juggle the tight hour constraint for lunch given to us by our employers, with the desire to avoid the fast food drive-thru. The good news is; we don't have to compromise! It is possible to have quick, sit down lunch at a restaurant if we are ready!
1. Go somewhere familiar
It doesn't have to be a place where everyone knows your name, but knowing the menu does help cut those reading-the-menu minutes. This way you can think about what you want on the way, and be ready to go at the first sight of the server. Have your co-workers suggested a new restaurant? Peruse their menu online during a break, before lunch!
2. Send the right signal
Most servers will tell you that they look for the guest to set the pace for the meal, so don't send the wrong signal by leisurely perusing the menu or being on your cell phone. A server will take this as a sign that you aren't ready to order. Instead, wait until after you order to make the phone call and close your menu when you are ready to order. Also, don't be shy to let the server know you are on a time constraint. They are the best to advise if what you ordered will take longer, or if they recommend something quicker.
3. Be ready to pay
If you're not planning on having dessert, ask for the check as soon as you get your meal. Even better, for a time-saving and paper saving option, use the Ready app to pay your bill, store your receipt and even help you figure out the tip!
With these easy steps, there's no reason to rush your lunch break again!
